The goal of the Austin
High School Business/Leadership Academy is to
produce academically well-rounded students who
have the business knowledge and skills to
compete in today’s business/marketing and
technologically advanced workplace. This goal is
achieved by:
Encouraging our students to excel
academically and to maintain an excellent
attendance record.
Introducing our students to the various
business/marketing student clubs and
organizations and encouraging active
participation in these.
Partnering with local businesses in the
community to provide hands-on experience to
our students through internships.
Encouraging our parents to become
actively involved in all aspects of our
academy.

When you join the Business/Leadership Academy at
Austin High School, in addition to studying your
core subjects, you will also have the
opportunity to learn about careers that can
involve the responsibility, rewards, creativity
and fast pace of business management or
ownership. As a member of the
Business/Leadership Academy you will be provided
with opportunities to connect the knowledge
learned in the classroom with the skills applied
in the business community.
This connection will be made by listening to
guest speakers from the local business
community, shadowing people employed in
interesting jobs, touring companies and finally
by being employed through the Career Preparation
Course available to 11th and 12th graders.
